The HIS Industries complete solution package for switchgear construction

written byRebecca EtteSpecialist Article

Control cabinet manufacturing has changed significantly in recent years. By integrating digital solutions and optimizing the entire process – from planning to production – HIS offers a modern, efficient, and flexible solution. This innovative approach ensures that both quality and flexibility in control cabinet manufacturing are elevated to a new level.

Control cabinet construction 4.0 - Leveraging the benefits of digitalization

The concept "HIS Control Cabinet Construction 4.0" stands for a fully digitized solution that covers the entire process from planning to production. This brings numerous advantages:

  • Efficient data transfer: EPLAN, STEP, or CAD data can be easily uploaded on the website and seamlessly integrated into the production process.

  • Simple documentation: Virtual wiring significantly reduces the documentation effort.

  • Increased throughput: Automated processes increase throughput by up to 30%.

  • Certified quality: Through digitally interconnected manufacturing and testing processes, a high quality according to relevant standards is ensured.

Digital planning for more flexibility and tailored solutions

Flexibility is a must for high-quality manufacturing processes. That's why at HIS Industries, we use prefabricated components in combination with digital manufacturing data to achieve the highest possible flexibility. Errors that could arise from manual inputs or incomplete changes are avoided through digital planning, ensuring that the entire process runs precisely and error-free.

Modern software solutions also allow for designing control cabinets in a virtual 3D model. This enables not only a cost-effective adjustment of the design but also a rapid development towards series production readiness. Changes can be made directly in the model, ensuring a perfect adaptation to given requirements and at the same time reducing production time.

Automated manufacturing: Less effort, more precision

By automating many manufacturing steps, from milling the housing to assembling the wire harnesses, the entire production process can be made more efficient. The use of a digital twin of the control cabinet in the configuration ensures that all processes can be parallelized and carried out precisely - for a realization as accurate and time-saving as possible.

The wiring of a control cabinet is THE crucial process. With HIS Industries, thanks to automation, it looks different: The mechanical processing of the enclosures is done in an automated milling center. At the same time, the wire harnesses are pre-assembled and labeled in an automated prefabrication process. In the final step, they only need to be wired, which significantly reduces the production effort.
