HIK and HIS Renewables merge to form HIS Technology
Oberzent, 20.07.2026 – HIK and HIS Renewables have always cooperated closely as sister companies and are now even more closely connected: The two companies are merging and will henceforth appear together on the market under the name HIS Technology. The rebranding of the two companies is expected to be fully completed by the end of August. The merger combines the long-standing experience of HIS Renewables GmbH in integrated energy infrastructure solutions with the technological expertise of HIK GmbH in electrical and mechatronic Plug & Play solutions for industrial automation.
“The merger is a logical step in the evolution of our two companies,” says Dominic Schulz, who will share management with Berthold Brentrup in the future. “Customers will benefit from an expanded range of services, combined expertise from various technological areas, and more efficient processes.”
Berthold Brentrup also sees great potential in the merger: “Both companies have developed successfully in recent years and have strong technical competencies, which we can now offer as integrated solutions from a single source. By merging, we are positioning ourselves for the future and strengthening our innovative power.”
For customers, partners, and suppliers, the collaboration remains unchanged: contacts, existing contracts, and ongoing projects will continue as usual. There will also be no changes regarding the locations.
HIS Technology GmbH is an internationally oriented technology company for integrated energy infrastructure solutions and intelligent energy management as well as customized electrical and mechatronic Plug & Play solutions for industrial automation.
The company develops and manufactures plug-in electromechanical assemblies, switch cabinets, and ready-to-connect cabling solutions in the HIS Industries business unit. Established in 2026 from the merger between HIK GmbH (founded in 1985) and HIS Renewables GmbH (founded in 2010), HIS Technology GmbH has more than 40 years of industry experience and serves over 2,000 customers in more than 60 countries. The company is part of the Walter Gebhardt Group.
